Origamibiro and The Joy of Box is a live audio-visual convergence between video artist The Joy of Box (Jim Boxall) and musicians and producers Origamibiro (Tom Hill and Andy Tytherleigh), involving multiple instruments, hi and lo-fi technologies and unorthodox objects to produce an intimate, vivid and atmospheric performance.

The show comprises a variety of mediums and methods. Origami flowers and bubble wrap are shredded into textured beats and sampled alongside double bass, strings and ukulele. Infra-red cameras examine aged books flicked in time to the music and poetry is hammered out live on an old vintage typewriter, laden with bug-mics and cameras.

The result is a dynamic relationship between sound, moving image and performance. The marriage of the various mediums present themselves in different ways; whether it's the constant movement onstage between prepared objects, or the sounds from Tom's guitar triggering clips of film, all are integral elements that form an experience unique to the individual.
